Week 4!  The time is starting to fly by!  If you are new here I am redoing my guest bedroom for the 6 week One Room Challenge as a guest blogger.  To learn more about the One Room Challenge go here.

This week I finally emptied the entire room out.  It seems like that would be the first step but there really was no need until everything was ordered and the painter was ready to start.  The painter started yesterday and should be finished up today.  The wall are Farrow and Ball Wimborne White.

The wood floor was already painted white years ago and the doors will be Benjamin Moore Hale Navy.

Here is what the room looked like at the end of the day on Wednesday.  All prepped and ready for paint which should be completed tomorrow.  Or course my dogs need to be in on all the action.  The painter had to remove the hardware from the bedroom door so it doesn't latch right now.  When we were out last night my dogs locked themselves in the room and were not very happy when we returned home!  They just can't stay out of trouble!

This past week I have been trying to decide on art for the room.  I have a hard time finding the right art pieces for myself.  I tend to like photographs or unique pieces like vintage engravings or a piece of abstract art.  I would rather have nothing on the wall than something that I don't love.
I like to find the right piece and sometimes that takes a while to find.  But in this case I only have 6 weeks!  :-)

I had mentioned that I picked up a couple of antique architectural engravings last weekend but they are black and white and there really needs to be some more color on the walls.

One thought I had was to do 2 small Kayce Hughes pieces similar to the one below.

That still may happen at some point but I think for now I may just do two of these cute little acrylic brackets from Wisteria:

I have a couple of these little colorful vintage Japanese men statues that I might place on the brackets or find some other "objet" to display.

Next week I am hoping to have all of my drapes and pillows finished and I will start installing all of the pieces and will have some more progress photos to show you.

See you next week!
