Kennebunkport, Maine

Last week we spent the week in Kennebunkport, Maine.  We typically head up there every summer for at least an extended weekend but since we bought our house up in the Adirondacks we have skipped the trip for the last three years. It is such a great town and we were missing it up there so we headed up for a week.

It was too cold to spend too much time on the beach so instead we spent the week relaxing, shopping and eating!  There are a number of great antique and home decor shop in town that I really enjoy visiting, not to mention Snug Harbor Farm....the mecca for topiary lovers!

First up is Antiques on Nine.  They have a great mix of old and new.  I loved the patina and color of this table:

A collection of vintage blue and white Chinese porcelain always gets me!

I thought these were so cool.  They are antique balloon molds.  The colors are so great and they would make a unique piece of art not to mention a great conversation starter.

They have an outdoor area with antique garden decor and statuary.

Next stop was Snug Harbor Farm.  Their specialty is topiary but it is also just a great place to visit.  They have tons of plants, a great shop and the a bunch of animals all around the property.  There are peacocks and chickens, many of which roam free.  A bunch of ducks and some mini-horses.  I would actually love to live there!

They have a bunch of bantam chickens roaming around.  They are so small and adorable.

Right across the street from Snug Harbor is a little shop called Bullfinch Antiques.  It is run out of a small garage/barn on the owner's property.  This little building is so adorable and the styling is so on point.  The walls are painted white with gray trim (which the owner pointed out he did 20 years ago way before it was trendy!) and the floors are a really great corally-red color.  Through the shop the owner creates the best vignettes.  And there are shells everywhere.  I LOVE shells.  My sister calls me a grandma all of the time because I just love having shells all around.
The owner has such great style and mixes Chinese, English and French antiques throughout the shop with such an effortless style.  I wanted to buy it all!  We picked up a few things here including some antique hand colored engravings of monkeys,  a piece of taxidermy and two Chinese side tables.

If you get a chance to visit Maine, Kennebunkport is definitely worth it.  The shopping is great, there are tons of great restaurants and also a number of really chic properties to stay at.  I am so glad we made the time to hop up there this year.  If only I had a moving truck I would have brought home lots more things!!!!
