I love this time of year. I know most people dread the shorter darker days, but I love it! It makes me want to stay home and be cozy. It's time to crank up the heat, light a fire and relax.
Once fall hits, one of the things I automatically start doing is lighting more candles. In the colder months I prefer scents that are stronger and less floral or fruity.

Here are a few candles I love:
I found this candle from Rosy Rings on one of my visits to Terrain in Westport. Smells so good!
This is one of my favorites from Anthropologie. Actually, I love most of the Voluspa candles and almost any candle from Anthro.
Another candle I am loving lately is this scent from Diptyque. Definitely on the pricier side but the scent is really strong and it lasts a long time. I bought mine in Paris last year as a little treat.
Another essential for fall is a great throw blanket. When curling up to read a book or watch a movie you need to stay warm! This blanket is the king of all blankets. The Hermes Avalon. It is absolute luxury! I am lucky enough to have the most generous and amazing client/friend who sent me one of these as a gift. My poor husband....this one is going to be hard for him to top!
Another much more affordable option for a luxurious throw is this cashmere blanket from Williams Sonoma Home. It can also be monogrammed which is a nice touch. It is also a great idea for a really nice gift.
Here are some interiors I am loving for the fall season. This room by Nina Farmer with the tonal colors and all of the texture of the wrapped coffee table, velvet couch and wool rug is so cozy. Add that amazing fireplace and those huge windows and you have the perfect Saturday afternoon looking at the fall foliage while curled up on your velvet chesterfield in front of a warm fire.
This room by Ruthie Sommers is so warm and inviting. The rich colors and textures again here are so great. I can see sitting on that velvet couch with a great book and a cup of tea. I also love the mix of art. It is so different and unexpected to combine a contemporary photograph with an abstract and a very traditional gilt framed painting.
This library by Connie Newberry is the quintessential library for fall. The Stark antelope carpet is one of my favorites. Combining the traditional English sofa and oil painting with a convex mirror and red lacquer table create an updated library that still feels traditional and is the perfect place to spend a fall afternoon!
