Client Lighting

I have a client who just moved across the country. I have known her for a few years and worked with her on a couple of projects in her old house and over time she has become a great friend.  She moved with her family to the west coast where they just bought a beautiful home.  The house they lived in here was very modern and the house they just bought is very traditional.  She asked me to help her come up with design plans for the new house and I am so excited!  We are going to try and work with some of her existing furniture but add pieces that will help blend the modern style of her current furnishings with the new traditional house.
I am taking a trip out to see her new house in a couple of weeks and can't wait!

One of the first things we are looking to update in the house is the lighting.  It's a big house so we have a lot of light fixtures to source.  Lighting can really add so much style and personality to a home and we are really looking for some interesting fixtures!

Here are some they are currently in the running:

I LOVE this lantern.  It comes is a ton of colors.  We are looking at using this in the breakfast nook area over a modern Saarinen table and chairs.

This is in the running for the master bedroom.  There is a tray ceiling and crown moulding in the master and it really needs something with presence.  This will bring a youthful edge to a traditional room

There are a lot of bathrooms that need updated lighting in the house but we first want to work on the master bedroom.  They are not in love with the current master bathroom and to add to the sting we just finished a beautiful master bathroom remodel for them a few months before they moved!  But the bathroom is in great shape and really isn't that bad....it's just not their ideal style.  We are thinking of adding these scones and then switching out the hardware on the vanity and adding a new window treatment to help update it the space.

I love this for the front entry.  The entry has a ton of beautiful painted woodwork and I think this would look great.  We don't have a lot of clearance so we can't do a hanging fixture but I think this one is perfect.  It's not a typical flushmount and it's not too traditional.

That is just the tip of the iceberg for the lighting we need to choose but I think we are off to a good start.  I'm so excited to visit the house and see it in person!
